Scope of privacy policy
This Privacy Policy applies to Lumiseek’s online web-based application and platform, (collectively, the “Services”) and Lumiseek.com, (the “Website”) through which we principally deliver the Services. This Privacy Policy applies to both individuals and organizations (“Customer”). If you do not wish to have your personal information collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with this policy, you should not access or use the Services or Website.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third party applications or software that integrate with the Services through the Lumiseek platform (“Third Party Services”), or any other third party products, services or businesses. In addition, a separate agreement governs delivery, access and use of the Services (the “ Customer Terms of Service ”), including the processing of any messages, files or other content submitted through Services accounts (collectively, “Customer Data”). The organization (e.g., your employer or another entity or person) that entered into the Terms of Service (“Organization”) controls the scope of Services (their “Account”) and any associated Organization Data. If you have any questions about specific settings within your Account relating to privacy or otherwise, please contact the Organization whose Account you use. You can check http://platform.lumiseek.com/ for contact information of your Account owner(s) and administrator(s). If you have received an invitation to join an Account but have not yet set up your user account, you should request assistance from the Organization that sent the invitation.
Information we collect
Lumiseek may collect and receive Customer Data and other information and data from Organizations and their users (“Other Information”) in a variety of ways:

Customer Data. Individuals or Organizations or individual end-users granted access to an Account by an Organization (“Authorized Users”) routinely submit Customer Data to Lumiseek when using the Services.

Other Information. Lumiseek also collects, generates and/or receives Other Information:

Account and Account Information. To create or update a personal profile you will be requested to provide Lumiseek with an email address, phone number, password, and similar account details. When creating a profile for an organization you or an authorized administrator from your organization will be asked to provide details about your business, technology, research and strategic goals. Personal and organization profiles maybe prepopulated with information that is already publicly available through online resources, databases etc.. For details on profile creation, click here.

Usage Information.

Services Metadata. When an Authorized User interacts with the Services, metadata is generated that provides additional information about the way Authorized Users use the Services. For example, Lumiseek logs your activity and other Authorized Users and Accounts and the features and content you interact with, the types of files shared and what Third Party Services are used (if any).

Log data. As with most websites and technology services delivered over the Internet, our servers automatically collect information when you access or use our Website or Services and record it in log files. This log data may include the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your device used to access the Services, browser type and settings, the date and time the Services were used, information about browser configuration and plugins, language preferences and cookie data.

Device information. Lumiseek collects information about devices accessing the Services, including type of device, device settings, application IDs, unique device identifiers and crash data. Whether we collect some or all of this Other Information often depends on the type of device used and its settings.

Location information. We receive information from you, your Organization and other third-parties that indicates or could be used to indicate your approximate location such as a business address submitted by your employer, or an IP address received from your browser or device. Lumiseek may also collect location information from devices in accordance with the consent process provided by your device.

Cookie Information. Lumiseek uses cookies and similar technologies in our Website and Services that help us collect Other Information. The Website and Services may also include cookies and similar tracking technologies of third parties, which may collect Other Information about you via the Website and Services. Third Party Services. Customer can choose to permit or restrict Third Party Services for their Account. Typically, Third Party Services are software that integrate with our Services, and individual customer or Organization’s administrative users can enable and disable these integrations for their Account. Once enabled, the provider of a Third Party Service may share certain information with Lumiseek. For example, if a third party cloud storage application is integrated with an Account, we may receive the folder tree, folder names, and associated file names for data stored within the third party storage application, along with additional information that the application has elected to make available to Lumiseek to facilitate the integration. Authorized Users should check the privacy settings and notices in these Third Party Services to understand what data may be disclosed to Lumiseek. We do not receive or store passwords for any of these Third Party Services when connecting them to the Services.

Third Party Data. Lumiseek may receive data about organizations, industries, Website visitors, marketing campaigns and other matters related to our business from parent corporation(s), affiliates and subsidiaries, our partners or others that we use to make our own information better or more useful. This data may be combined with Other Information we collect and might include aggregate level data, such as which IP addresses correspond to zip codes or countries. Or it might be more specific: for example, how well an online marketing or email campaign performed.

Additional Information Provided to Lumiseek. We receive Other Information when submitted to our Website or if you participate in a focus group, activity or event, request support, request information about our Website or Services, interact with our social media accounts or otherwise communicate with Lumiseek.

Generally, no one is under a statutory or contractual obligation to provide any Customer Data or Other Information (collectively, “Information”). However, certain Information is collected automatically and, if some Information, such as Account setup details, is not provided, we may be unable to provide the Services.
How we use information
Lumiseek uses Customer Data and Other Information to operate our business, including in providing and operating our Services and Website and as set forth in this Privacy Policy. Lumiseek uses Other Information:

This includes use of Other Information to support delivery of the Services under a Customer Terms of Service, prevent or address service errors, security or technical issues, analyze and monitor usage, trends and other activities or at an Authorized User’s request.

To develop and provide search, learning and productivity tools and additional features. Lumiseek tries to make the Services as useful as possible for specific Accounts and Authorized Users. For example, we may improve search functionality by using Other Information to help determine and rank the relevance of content, channels or expertise to an Authorized User, make Services suggestions based on historical use and predictive models, identify organizational trends and insights, to customize a Services experience or create new productivity features and products.

To send emails and other communications. We may send you service, technical and other administrative emails, messages and other types of communications. We may also contact you to inform you about changes in our Services, our Services offerings, and important Services-related notices, such as security and fraud notices. These communications are considered part of the Services and you may not opt out of them. In addition, we sometimes send emails about new product features, promotional communications or other news about Lumiseek. These are marketing messages so you can control whether you receive them.

Customers in using the Services determine their own policies and practices for the sharing and disclosure of Information within the functionality and settings of the Services and Lumiseek does not control how they or any other third parties choose to share or disclose Information in their use of the Services.

Performing Our Obligations Under the Customer Terms of Service. Lumiseek will share and disclose Customer Data in performing our obligations under the Customer Terms of Service and Customer’s use of Services functionality and settings and in compliance with applicable law and legal process.

Displaying the Services. Authorized Users’ names, titles, and associated organizations may be viewable by all Authorized Users (across all Customers). More specific information such as email, detailed profile, resume, etc. maybe shared with other Authorized Users in specific forums, groups, subgroups with your permission. Information provided to populate organization profiles such as business, technology, research related details and strategic goals of the business will be viewable by all authorized users on the platform. Sensitive and confidential information should not be included in organizational profiles and only be shared with Authorized Users in specific forums, groups, subgroups with your permission.

Collaborating with Others. The Services provide different ways for Authorized Users connecting with their and other Accounts to collaborate. Information, such as an Authorized User’s profile Information, may be shared, subject to the policies and practices of the other Account(s) with the end-users’ permission

Customer Access. Owners, administrators, Authorized Users and other Customer representatives and personnel may be able to access, modify or restrict access to Information. This may include, for example, your employer using Services features to export logs of Account activity, or accessing or modifying your profile details.

Third Party Service Providers and Partners. We may engage third party companies or individuals as service providers or business partners to process Information and support our business. These third parties may, for example, provide virtual computing and storage services.

Corporate Affiliates. Lumiseek may share Information with its corporate affiliates, parents and/or subsidiaries as required to create a customized solution for our end users and organizations.

Security
We maintain reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
Age limitations
To the extent prohibited by applicable law, Lumiseek does not allow use of our Services by anyone younger than 18 years old. If you learn that anyone has provided us with the Personal Data of someone younger than 18, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

Lumiseek may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Laws, regulations and industry standards evolve, which may make those changes necessary, or we may make changes to our business. We will post the changes to this page and encourage you to review our Privacy Policy to stay informed. If we make changes that materially alter your privacy rights, Lumiseek will provide additional notice, such as via email or through the Services. Contact the Organization if you wish to request the removal of Personal Data under their control and we will reasonably assist Organizations in such requests as required.
International data transfers
Lumiseek has its headquarters in the United States and certain of its operations in India. Information we collect from you in other countries will be transferred to and processed in the United States and India, although certain of our service providers may then access the information from outside those countries. We endeavor to apply suitable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of your personal information consistent with the practices described in this Privacy Notice.
Your choices
You may avoid our collection and use of manually submitted Personal Data by not providing it to us, although this may prevent us from providing Services you request or purchase.
